math was always one of the subjects that i've been really into. wasn't the best at it, but i enjoyed it when i actually did my homework and knew what was going on. i am super OCD/ADD/ADDHD so anything that involved organizing data in chart or graph form was my favorite part. u could bet i was always using a ruler (or as every fucking teacher calls it, "straight edge") to draw those bar charts and line graphs. it's fucking nerdy and odd, but i love organizing numbers or data.

anyways, DAYTUM.com has immediately filled that long overdue void in my life and has me back to recording, compiling, and displaying data. if you first describe to someone what DAYTUM actually is, they're going to think you're nerd central. but it truly is a neat site. you are allowed 6 panels in which you can choose to display messages or lists of anything you want. the lists can then be displayed in different forms including pie charts, bar graphs, numbers, etc.

i've chosen to go with an overall theme of displaying all alcoholic beverages consumed that includes different categories for different types of drinks. oh and a special panel for how many times i have released some fluids/solids as well. here are a few of my panels...

long time friends and lovers of mine, Colby & Josh, are putting the finishing touches on their first solo show,

HOME IS WHERE YOU MAKE IT...

"In their first solo show, Jolby’s work takes us on the journey of a boy named William who, after suffering a great loss, leaves his familiar town of Seaside to discover what “home” really means inside the depths of an aging forest. Through-out this story we are introduced to a detailed world filled with odd characters, illustrious patterns, vibrant colors, and hand- rendered type. The show tells this imaginative story using a variety of mediums including prints, paintings, drawings, and even detailed handmade plush dolls contributed by Jill and Erin Lynch (Dolls for Friends). Reflecting on their recent life experiences, the “Home is Where You Make it” story has been inspired by the artists’ pasts and deals with love, hope, depression, faith, isolation, acceptance, and re-birth."

These guys are honestly one of the most talented artistic duos; the patterns, the illustrations, the colors, the STORIES... just simply incredible. The show will be going from Feb. 21 - Mar. 22. But opening night is Feb 21 6-10pm, where Josh & Colby will both be there to sign some of their amazing prints that will be on sale. If you're in the San Diego area next weekend, absolutely no excuse to miss this.

PERSPECTIVE available at G8

back in october at E for All, i had a talk with Tony of G8 as he showed me samples of the upcoming line. i was impressed on what they had to offer, straying away from a majority of the other video game inspired apparel out there.

"our collection of limited edition t-shirts consists of innovative, high fashion prints, inspired by nostalgic gaming designs and classic video game imagery."

they've got some good classics portrayed on their apparel: dig dug, mario, pong, asteroids, pacman, etc.

so as i was shuffling through the samples, Tony asked me if i'd like to hit him up with some designs. i was pretty stoked on the offer and i started immediately that weekend on some rough ideas. i finally got to this Marble Madness inspired design (pictured above) which is now available in the G8 store.

i remember Marble Madness being a super rad game, but i never had the patience to get past the 4th level, that shit was hard! always miscalculating my jumps and getting swept up by the magical fairy brush.

i've put together my dream team of people you would most likely want to be in your getaway vehicle during a slow speed persuit. find a posse like this and you're on your way to the canadian /mexican border...

middle eastern dude (driver) - this guy's business recently went under. he's pissed and will drive a mean 20mph...maybe even 23.

chris brown (security) - any ladies coming to your vehicle to check the trunk? no way he'll hesitate in settling her straight with a few contusions and a busted lip. you defintely don't want to be around if her man ends up being on the floor that night.

christian bale (negotiator) - handling all negotiation attempts from LAPD. his foul mouth and short temper will make sure all demands are met. he doesn't give a fuck what the situation is, he will verbally tear any cop a new asshole.

OJ (navigator) - he's done this before and knows exactly what to do in any situation involving a chase of a white vehicle. Russinabox mentioned to me that he's been in jail for about six months now. guess i missed that one. anyways, he will then be navigating via Skype.

Uff da (can also be spelled uff-da, uffda, uff-dah, oofda, ufda, oofta or ufta) is an exclamation of Norwegian origin that is relatively common in the Upper Midwestern states of the United States. It roughly means "drats," "oops!" or "ouch!", especially if the "ouch!" is an empathetic one.

In Norwegian Midwestern USA culture, "Uff Da" translates into: "I am overwhelmed." It has become a mark of Scandinavian roots, particularly for people from North Dakota and northern Minnesota. "Uff da" is often used in the as a term for sensory overload. It can be used as an expression of surprise, astonishment, exhaustion, relief and sometimes dismay. The term has been heard among men when a particularly attractive woman enters a room, or depending on the tone of voice, when a particularly unattractive woman enters the room.

"Uff da" is still commonly used in contemporary Norwegian. It is usually written in the form "Uff, da" or "Uffda". In Norwegian, uff is an interjection used when something is scary, uncomfortable, hurtful, annoying, sad or boring. Uff da is most often used as a response when hearing something lamentable (but not too serious), and could often be translated as Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. The broader American usage would be baffling to most native Norwegian speakers.
